School is Business

How do they do it?  Have you ever wondered how college students get by?  Think about it.  Students have to spend thousands of dollars to pay tuition, thousands for their housing, thousands for food and gas, thousands for books, and that’s not even mentioning their personal needs and wants.  For someone who doesn’t have a college degree and can only get some part time job at a local grocery store, paying all of that is very tedious.  Furthermore, some of them have a wife or children that they have to take care of.

There are very few scholarships available, and thousands of students trying to get each one.  It’s even more difficult once someone gets married to find funding for school.  Once someone gets married, the results seem opposite of what should happen.  They are in a position to need more money and assistance than ever, and that’s when their parents say, “Well, you’re on your own now!”  I think that there should be specific scholarships for newlyweds and people in school who just brought into life a new child.  Those are usually the hardest times in life financially and the times when a person sometimes doesn’t know how or what to do to get by.  It just seems like that’s when anyone willing to help would make the biggest difference in someone’s life.

Blog #3

Presenting Yourself with a Blog

Blogs are very useful tools in a person’s professional career.  They can be a place for someone to express their feelings on a procedure or a product, or they can be used to present someone’s ideas for others to think about.  If they are done correctly, they can be used to present an individual professionally.
In an interview situation, blogs can be used to show an employer writing, analyzing, or problem solving skills that one has used in the past.  In this way, an applicant can show the employer real examples of when they have done these things, rather than just making up stories and inventing situations to impress the employer.  When the employer is presented with a blog, they can see that the person’s experiences were real, and that they went about them in a professional way.

Collaboration Technology

Collaboration technology is used daily in most businesses.  With so much information in the world that needs to be shared with so many people, inventing new/better ways to communicate is inevitable. In collaboration, many people need to communicate and input ideas to new subject matter.  Many times, this collaboration is done from different parts of the country or even the world.

With Blogs, Wikis, E-mail, Facebook, and many other collaboration technologies, information can be shared with many people simultaneously.  One person can post it on their computer, and anyone else that has access can access it from many other electronic devices.  They can do this in a matter of seconds from anywhere that they have the service. These types of communication are easier, faster, more reliable, and just plain better.

What can professional blogs do for businesses and organizations?

Professional blogs are very important in businesses because it gives the clients and employees of a company a way to know what kind of developments or upcoming events the company is doing.  They can then post pictures and information about the events that would otherwise be of less quality printed out, and they would be more easily distributed.
Furthermore, Anyone that wanted to know about new things could go to the business blog and look for themselves. They would that way be more informed, and if they had forgotten about the details of something, they would always have a place to go look.
Blogs are used by most large businesses as a way to more be in-tune with the reader.  This way, the reader can post what they think about the article or pictures, or whatever the company has on there, and the company can read their responses so that they can know the thoughts of their consumers.  Blogs are a good way for companies to give a message to consumers, and for the consumers to return their input.
